2 Quotes & Sayings By Terentianus Maurus

Terentianus Maurus ("Terentianus the Elder") was a Latin grammarian and author of a "classical" Latin textbook in astronomy, which included the first description in Latin of the precession in the zodiac. His treatise on astronomy in Latin, De die solis (On the Motion of the Sun), is held by many scholars to be the best known Latin treatise on that subject. The text has survived in numerous manuscripts, but most are incomplete. It is also known from an Arabic translation made under caliph Al-Ma'mun by Tāj al-Dīn Abū'l-Abbās ibn 'Abd Allāh ibn al-Mu'tamid ibn al-Fazāz by his order in 987 AD.
